I am always looking for new ways to get members involved. Everyone has an interest or activity that they might enjoy sharing with their fellow knights—why not take advantage of that?
Last May I learned that a group of Knights who enjoy riding motorcycles had organized fellow knights in Texas, Michigan, Mississippi, Minnesota, Kansas, North Carolina, South Dakota, Colorado, Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia, Delaware, Washington, New York, Illinois, and Washington DC. The Knights of Bikes program was born, as an opportunity for Knights to ride together, support KofC functions and events, and promote the Knights.
I contacted the National President Raymond Medina in Fort Worth, Texas and learned that although the Supreme Knight Carl Anderson was an honorary member, there was no Connecticut diocese of Knights on Bikes. I got the ball rolling and we now have 2 additional new members out of the Bridgeport area within our first month of existence. If you own/ride a motorcycle and would like a group of friends and fellow knights to ride with, contact me at (203)877-9180, or visit the Knights on Bikes CT website at:
